Ketamina 100

Description
Injectable disassociative anesthetic based on Ketamine, suitable for all species.

Composition
Ketamine (us clorhidrate): 100 mg.
Excipients c.s.p: 1 ml.

Action
Disassociative Anesthetic.

Indications
Premedication, induction and maintenance of anesthesia. For Caesarean operation. You can use cocktails with other drugs as: Acepromazine, Xylazine, Diazepan, Midazolam, sodium Tiopental, Ether-Gliceril-Guayacolico and anesthetic inalatory, obtaining in this way a better anesthetic result for blockade or decrease of undesirable colateral effects with the use of ketamine.

Warnings
Not to use in the following cases: Convulsive animals; cranial traumatism with increase of intracraneana pressure; Glaucoma, and in those cases where intraocular pressure should not be increase; Hypertension; renal inadequacy, especially in felines; severe hepatic inadequacy.

Colaterals Effects
Ketamine produces hipersialorrea reason why the use of atropine 1% it is recommended in the cases that it is required. Cases of apnea can be observed. In the event of a breathing break, ventilation is indicated to positive pressure, avoiding the analeptics use. During the recovery it is recommended to find a calm place with little light. Pain can appear in the place of the intramuscular application.

Sterile multiple dose vial. Net content 20 and 50 ml.

Canine:
- Intravenous: 7 up to 10
- Intramuscular: 15 up to 25

Feline:
- Intravenous: 7 up to 10
- Intramuscular: 15 up to 25

Equine:
- Intravenous: 3 up to 5
- Intramuscular: 15

Bovine:
- Intravenous: 5
- Intramuscular: 15

Swinish:
- Intravenous: 5
- Intramuscular: 10 up to 20

Ovine:
- Intravenous: 3
- Intramuscular: 10 up to 20

Primates:
- Intravenous: 1 up to 5
- Intramuscular 5 up to 15

Birds:
- Intramuscular: 10 up to 20

The combination of Ketamina with other sedative drugs (Xylazina, etc.) or anesthetic (sodium Tiopental, etc.) can reduce the dose up to 50%.

The recommended dose can be repeat during the surgical act according to the doctor's veterinary approach. The repetition dose that is recommended is of 50% of the initial dose.
In felines the dose should not be bigger than the double of the one recommended in the chart. When Ketamina is used alone is recommended that the dosage of sulfate of atropine in a dose of 0,045 mg/kg.

OBSERVATIONS
Its recommended 6 hours of fasting before giving the
anesthesia.
